Review: Hobby Japan Junko Hattori

When the pre-order for her started, I already knew I had to get her. After her release I waited in excitement for months hoping my supplier would contact me for collection. Bad news came as somebody told me that supplier went missing in action. A big disappointment at first, but finally I managed to get her through a friend of mine. I mean a cutie in ninja outfit, who could resist?
My concept of ninjas are, they must have scarfs. Just look at my Esper logo.
Her robe's fantastic, the details on her waist tells it all. Originally the previews of her shows that she's castoffable, don't know how it happened that her outfit's not really so. But I peeped through the seams and could see there are details inside of her clothes. Yeah, I know I sounded like a perv there.
Her gauntlet has a great design with all the trims and the claws. You could put the kunai in her left hand, but it'll still look great without it. I mean why would you want another weapon when you have claws there.
Peekaboo.
There's a very long sword sheath hanging behind her in the same color theme. I was hoping they made it hollow so I could really keep the sword in there. Oh well, can't ask for too much.
Her sword looks really cool. Her robe sleeve's great too. The greatest view is what you see between them here. I'm talking about the sword guard, don't be misleaded.
The back of her robe has fantastic gold patterns imprinted on them and they really shine. You can clearly see the continuation of the greatest view here. Alright, you caught me, I'm not talking about the sword guard just now.
Her leg armors are amazing. Wish they could put in more effort in her feet areas, looks kind of dull.
To my surprise, Junko has the most stable base compared to the rest of my figures. With that pose and the flame portion of the base, she's not even budging when I turn her around. Normally big sized figures tend to lean towards the heavier side, but it's not the case here.
The translucent orange flames she's surfing, a heavy chunk of plastic.
Queen's Gate. It follows exactly the same style as the Queen's Blade series, considering it's a spin off from them.
I'm actually glad to get my hands on her, but taking away the castoff is really a pity. There's a way to cast her off by cutting through her clothes, but I wouldn't want to do that. Yeah I know I don't post pictures of castoff, but I do wish to have them for my own enjoyment.

Review: Alter Kos-mos Version 4

This is one of the coolest figure I got. Another version of Kos-mos by Alter, obviously an improved one. From the character design point of view, they fixed the face proportion which looks so sweet now, there's a change in hairstyle and her pose is more dynamic with her newly acquired weapon. Her build's not so muscular as compared to the earlier version.
It's obvious that if she's back, she must be back with an upgrade. Her suit's all bigger, more details with the use of decals and a bigger gun.
Her hair looks longer and a lighter shade. Just like I said, it's not a Kos-mos if it ain't got this hair.
They added more gold parts to her suit. Her front looks bigger, don't ask me what front, you know what front I'm talking about. The shadings are definitely better.
Her suit design resembles that of a cheongsam. It's a great thing where more skin can be exposed with her top, overall improving her attractiveness, at least to me.
I'm convinced that Alter never leaves out the back details of any figures. There's more details to her rear but it still somwhat looks small, probably originally she's not big over there.
Her big gatling gun. Awesome details and color. Even though she's holding it with only one arm, it doesn't sway, hence I don't need to worry about her arm warping for now.
Good thing they never made her outfit symmetrical. That way I can choose which direction to pose her and get a different look everytime.
The details of the add-ons on her side hip. Detailed details, you get what I mean. Two garters this time, me double like.
The back of her knees. Good for touching.
The future of improved high heels.
The base this time isn't rectangle and it isn't boring. They should have come up with this hexagon design earlier, any direction you pose her in, she'll still take up an equal amount of space.
Excellent figure. This is the best Kos-mos figure out there, high quality, great packaging, nice design. For the hefty price, you get what you paid.

Review: Alter Kos-mos

I was hunting up and down for a Kos-mos version 4 but that seems to sell like hotcakes. Then someone offered me this version of her, which I didn't think through enough before I bought her. Yes, I was desperate, and she seem well worth for the price too.
First things first. Honestly I don't quite like her face which looks a little bigger than normal. It seems unproportional to her slender figure. The features are very doll-like and there's not much of an expression to look at either. But that aside, the details of her suit makes up for it, so when you look at her you'll tell yourself it's not that bad.
I'm loving the head crown here, though I can't understand how the minor touch of blue can make this look so good.
When you talk about purple opaque hair in the figure world, this first thing that comes into everyone's mind is her. All figures, resins and figmas of her have the same translucent purple hair, so in other words, it ain't a Kos-mos if it ain't got that hair.
The back of her suit is also very highly detailed just like the front.
Even with the great color combination and detailing of her suit, I do kinda feel her pose is a little awkward. Her head's turned to her left, it does look interesting and unique at first, but you'll realise you can't get a good look at her overall. If you want to get a clear look at her face, you can't get a look at her front and if you want to get a clear look at her front, she's not looking your way.
Just the correct amount of skin exposed. It saddens me to see her rear's so flat.
The glove and fingers detail are there, but the paintjob's a little rough on the edge.
Nice gun.
Thigh with garter. Me like.
The future of high heels.
Just a rectangular white base.
A simple figure with a simple base. Not much to pinpoint, not much to praise either but a little simplicity hasn't hurt anyone yet.
